About

Credit Union National Association (CUNA), based in Washington, D.C., and Madison, Wisconsin, is the premier national trade association serving America's credit unions. The not-for-profit trade group is governed by volunteer directors who are elected by their credit union peers.

With its network of affiliated state credit union leagues, CUNA serves America's 6,950 state and federally chartered credit unions, which are owned by more than 98 million consumer members. CUNA partners with state leagues and credit unions to comprehensively track and have a positive impact on laws affecting operations and members, engage credit unions politically at the grassroots level, facilitate discussion and provide credit union input to regulators and build knowledge for compliance staff. CUNA’s well-deserved reputation as one of Washington's premier advocacy organizations strengthens the delivery of the credit union message and the shape of public policy affecting credit unions. CUNA’s work ensures that credit unions get the recognition they deserve as consumers' best choice as their financial partner.

For 50 years, CUNA has been a leader in the financial education of members, providing credit unions with a comprehensive collection of resources that allow the dissemination of relevant and objective personal finance information in a variety for formats—in print, in person and online.

CUNA opens doors for credit union staff, managers, CEOs and volunteers with innovative educational, research and information programs that enhance organizational and individual performance through multiple learning methods. Each year, CUNA develops conferences, audios and webinars for more than 18,000 credit union professionals and volunteers to help them master the changing regulatory and legislative environments and market forces.
